Kitchen Hood Fire Suppression Systems
Most commercial cooking facilities require an automatic fire suppression system to be installed in the exhaust hood above the appliances to suppress fires that may start in the cooking appliances or even in the exhaust hood. Cofessco Fire Protection’s technicians are trained in the proper inspection, installation and maintenance of these systems.
Installation & Modification:
Cofessco Fire Protection installs Amerex and Pyro-Chem fire suppression systems. Both manufacturers have a long history of producing high quality and reliable fire suppression systems. Cofessco Fire Protection can also upgrade existing kitchen hood fire suppression systems to meet UL-300 standards.
Kitchen Hood Fire Suppression Service: Inspection, testing and maintenance
NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) recommends semi-annual functional inspections of kitchen exhaust hood fire suppression systems. Cofessco Fire Protection performs inspections to the NFPA standards and creates computer generated inspection reports which can be emailed, faxed or mailed to you or anyone else that you request.
Semi-Annual inspections include:
- System cylinder meets NFPA codes
- Functional test of system actuation mechanisms
- Verification of discharge nozzle placement for proper coverage of cooking appliances
- Gas valve automatic shut-off function
- The physical condition of the system appears to be in “normal” working condition
- The hazard protected has not changed
